This week starts Week 1 of my journey with Country Heat! Well, actually last week was Week 1 but to be honest after a trip home to Illinois, bad eating and missed workouts I decided to start over this week. I am a bit upset with myself for not sticking to my plan like I should have but I am certainly not going to dwell on it. I don’t see my friends and family often so I wasn’t all that worried about sticking to plan. Plus, I admit, it is definitely much harder to stay on track when you are away from home. Making poor food choices and skipping workouts is easy to do when you are out of your normal routine. Not saying that sticking to your plan can’t be done because IT CAN. But, it is definitely harder and I give myself a big, fat ‘F’ in that department last week. So I’m using today as a fresh start and forgiving myself. Only thing to do now is MOVE ON!!
Here is my meal plan for Week 1 of Country Heat. I am on Plan B (calculated based on your current weight, calorie burn and calorie deficit) but since I am breastfeeding I am being a little lenient and listening to my body. Breastfeeding Mommas should add anywhere from 300-500 additional calories per day depending on your needs. So if I am still hungry after eating everything on my plan my goal is to add an extra serving of protein or carbs. I am also trying to drink 1 gallon of water per day. Water is super important for many reasons but particularly for keeping my milk supply up.
This is a 30 day or 4 week program so I will share my thoughts and progress each week. For those of you who aren’t familar with Country Heat it is a low-impact cardio dance program set to country music. No, it’s NOT line dancing as the name might imply! I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when this program was announced last spring since Beachbody had just release Cize last summer. But this is a completely different type of dance program and I’m excited to do something outside of my comfort zone and cannot wait to see what kind of results I get. My goals for this week:
- Complete all workouts!
- Stay on track with nutrition by following my meal plan.
- At least 100 oz of water per day
Hope everyone is having a great week so far. Happy Hump Day!
Xoxo,
Linnea
