HELLO 3RD TRIMESTER!!! Are we seriously here already? This pregnancy is flying by! I just hope it continues to go that way as we move into warmer weather. We have blessed so far with a healthy pregnancy and things are still looking great. So right now we are still just cruising along! Enjoy this week’s baby update!
How Far Along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +10 pounds
Maternity clothes? I have yet to buy any new maternity clothes this time around. So far I have just been wearing the clothes I bought during my pregnancy with Carson and wearing
what still fits of my normal clothes; mostly tank tops, dressed and loose fitting tops.
Stretch marks? The ones on my stomach didn’t show up until after Carson was born. But as of right now I don’t see any of my legs, boobs or anywhere else. Yay!
Sleep: I still struggle to stay awake past 9:00 pm. If I make it to 10:00 pm it’s probably because Carson won’t go to bed. I am trying my best to get at least 7 hours per night.
Best moment this week: I had my 1 hour glucose test and checkup with Dr. King on Thursday. While the glucose test was NO FUN getting to hear baby’s heartbeat is always awesome. Oh and I PASSED the glucose test! YAY!!!
Miss Anything? My normal energy level. These past few weeks I feel like I have really been dragging and have just not had much energy for anything. I’m hoping it will pass because I’ve been slacking on workouts because of it.
Movement: This baby is a mover! I can’t remember if Carson moved this much as this stage but this baby moves for 5-10 minutes at a time and at all hours of the day. It’s such an incredible feeling and hands down my favorite part of pregnancy.
Food cravings: I don’t feel like I have been craving anything specific. I still can’t seem to say NO to sugar so I’m surprised I passed the glucose test. I do like things that are really cold (fruit, water, popsicles, etc.).
Anything making you queasy or sick: Oh let’s see…..how about the hundreds of piles of cat puke I had to clean up this week? Yeah, not fun.
How about that baby bump? I love it. It’s starting to get hard to bend over and tie my shoes but that’s to be expected!
Gender prediction: I think we all secretly hope it’s a girl but I’m trying not to think about it too much.
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie.
Wedding rings on or off? Both are still on most of the time. If we are outside on some of these hot days I take them off because my hands do seem to swell a bit.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I actually cannot believe how calm I have been this time around. I think a lot of it just has do with all the personal growth I have experienced in the last 2 years.
Looking forward to: VACATION!!! In just 2 weeks we leave for our annual St. Augustine trip. I think we are all looking forward to the mental break more than anything else. I am so looking forward to having my feet in the sand and soaking up a little sun. This will be our last vacation as a family of 3!
Anything else? May is Preeclampsia/HELLP Awareness Month!! I hope that by sharing my story it helps at least one other person (I will share again in a separate post). HELLP Syndrome almost cost me my life and I am forever thankful to the team of doctors and nurses at Stonecrest who cared for me and my family so lovingly! There is always the chance of developing this condition in subsequent pregnancies but so far my blood pressure is looking great, weight gain is under control and my platelets are normal. Praise God! Here is a 28 week belly picture and a picture of me and my little guy on Mother’s Day yesterday!
See you again in 2 weeks!
xoxo,
Linnea
