36 Week Baby Update!

How Far Along? 36 weeks, 5 days

Total weight gain/loss: + 27 lbs

Maternity clothes? I mentioned last update that I realized I don’t have all that many maternity clothes.  At this point my mission is to stay cool since it has been close to 100 with the heat index most days.  I wear a lot of my husband’s mesh gym shorts with tank tops and flip flops and whatever flowy, cool dresses I have. I try to save my nicer maternity clothes for work and church,

Stretch marks? They are definitely noticeable on my stomach.  No worries, though, those are stretch marks I am proud of!

Sleep: Gets more uncomfortable each night. My saving grace has been my maternity pillow; it helps significantly with lower back pain.  I wake up at least once a night to pee, another time drenched in sweat and sometimes a second time to pee.  I have stopped waking up to an alarm clock though; I am getting all the rest I can because I know my body needs it right now.

Best moment this week:  We went for our growth ultrasound on 6/29 and learned that baby currently is breech. While this is a bit disheartening for me given my history I am hopeful that baby will turn and we can try for a VBAC as planned.  My blood pressure was also up a bit that day but I am happy to report that at my checkup yesterday on 7/6 my blood pressure looks great and my Doctor is thrilled with my progress so far. She is very optimistic since I have not had any signs of preeclampsia or HELLP up to this point that it will not show up in these last few weeks. Praise God!

Miss Anything? I have to say the same thing I said last update; control and a schedule. I know when baby gets here any schedule I have will be out the window but my Coaching business is suffering due to my lack of schedule and motivation. I miss that feeling of motivation and the high I get after a good workout; I just do not have the energy for them anymore.

Movement: Movement is great!  Now that I know baby is breech I am hoping I will feel that big movement of him/her getting into position!  But movement is good and healthy which is really all that matters.

Food cravings: Apparently I crave anything that is bad for me.  My eating habits have been nothing to write home about these last few weeks.  I’m trying to dial it in a bit these last few weeks so I don’t put my body into shock after baby gets here, lol. One of my favorite things is a Cinnamon Crunch Bagel from Panera (see picture)!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!20160706_100225

How about that baby bump? Oh it’s definitely getting bigger and definitely making it harder to do even the simplest of tasks.  I think now that my belly is bigger Carson realizes that there is a baby in there. He frequently asks to give the baby a kiss…..melts my heart every time!

Gender prediction:  I know deep down my husband would love another little boy but he has also said he would love a little girl.  I have felt it was a boy from day 1 but more and more lately I am leaning towards girl.

Belly Button in or out? Still an innie but it’s getting flatter and flatter by the day.

Wedding rings on or off? I can still wear both my wedding band and engagement ring but this week I have started just wearing the band. With it being so hot, the second we step outside my fingers start to swell and it’s just been easier to only have one on at a time.  I am impressed that they have stayed on this long!

Happy or Moody most of the time: To be honest, I think lately I have been more 50/50.  Little things that normally would not get to me have been bothering me.  There is just so much to think about in these last few weeks and so much to do that it’s hard to not let it get the best of you.

Looking forward to: Right now I LIVE for my weekly Doctor visits. Every visit means we are one week closer to meeting our sweet baby.  And every day that goes by where I feel healthy is truly a blessing.  I cannot wait for the day we are holding our sweet baby.

Anything else? As of right now we are still undecided on names. We do have middle names for each gender locked in but first names are still up in the air.  That is one thing we really need to be thinking about these next few weeks.  Carson is now officially moved into his new room and seems to be adjusting quite well. He still has had some trouble going to bed at night but we aren’t trying to push an earlier bedtime too much; we are just trying to love on him all we can right now as I know he senses things are changing.  We put the crib back together and got all the baby gear down out of the attic. I have washed all the gender neutral clothes I have and the diapers, etc are ready to go!

Just a few more weeks to go!
