For anyone who has been pregnant more than once you can likely relate with what I am about to say. That first pregnancy you are SO GOOD about documenting belly photos, tracking weight gain/loss and remembering how you felt and when you felt that way. Second pregnancy comes along and well…..you’re just trying to survive being pregnant and chasing a toddler! Anyway, when i was pregnant with Carson I sent out these email updates about every 2 weeks starting at 20 weeks to family and friends. I know they really enjoyed them so I thought I would bring them back and share with all of you!
How Far Along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +1 lb (per the doctor’s scale)
Maternity clothes? Oh yeah! At this point in my pregnancy with Carson I was still squeezing into my own pants but now I know better! At home, I mostly wear yoga pants, sweatpants or LulaRoe leggins. For work, I have definitely busted out the maternity pants! I haven’t needed to wear many maternity shirts yet, per se, but I have them out and ready to go!
Stretch marks? None yet! Well new ones anyway! I have some faint ones still from Carson but haven’t noticed any new ones popping up anywhere.
Sleep: Is the best thing since sliced bread! I am typically ready for bed by 9pm at the very latest and once I am actually in bed I am asleep within minutes. I am averaging around 7 hours or more per night; still getting up early to workout and work on my business. I need my quiet time!
Best moment this week: I had a checkup with Dr. King on Thursday (after my walkout incident last week) and Carson came with me. The nurse listened to the baby’s heartbeat and the look on Carson’s face when he heard the baby was PRICELESS!
Miss Anything? Not really. Most of my 1st trimester food aversions are gone and I have much more energy these days. I feel GREAT!
Movement: This baby is a mover! At our last ultrasound we were told my placenta is in the back so I will likely feel a lot of movement. I’d say that is pretty darn accurate! This baby is already kicking so hard that I can see it as well.
Food cravings: Sweets! Ice cream and sweet tea have been the biggest but I’m not craving them to the point where I have to go out and get them. If I ever get to that point I just chug a big glass of water.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Chicken! Ugghhh….gross!
How about that baby bump? Right now it’s actually cute! I don’t feel huge at all (yet).
Gender prediction: Linnea- boy; Woody- girl; Carson-??
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie.
Wedding rings on or off? Both are still on.
Happy or Moody most of the time? I don’t think I’m too moody but I admit I have my moments!
Looking forward to: Call me crazy but the 28 week glucose test. With this pregnancy every milestone we get past with no sign of trouble is a huge relief for me. I’m hoping that by staying active and eating healthy (most of the time) that all will be well on that test and we can look forward to the next big thing!
Anything else? The possibility of developing HELLP again is never far from my mind. However, I have put it in God’s hands and will accept whatever comes our way. If it happens again at least we are prepared and knowledgeable. My hope is still for a natural birth; no medication or c-section.
Right now we are just cruising along! “See you” again in 2 weeks for another update!
